Custom Magnetic Chucks for Non-Standard Workpieces.

When a standard chuck cannot support your part geometry, we can review a custom working face, pole arrangement, mounting interface and locating features. The goal is a fixture that fits the actual machining setup.

Your Part Drawing Sets the Design Direction.

A thin plate may need closely spaced poles and uniform support. A drilled block needs tool clearance and locating stops. A production fixture may also need a defined mounting pattern or electrical control interface. Each calls for a different design review.

Three Magnetic Chuck Types.
Different Ways to Hold.

Permanent magnetic chucks offer mechanically switched holding without continuous power. Electromagnetic chucks use energized coils for controlled magnetic attraction. Electro-permanent chucks use electrical pulses to switch magnetic states and retain holding without continuous power.

The differences matter in daily use: how a workpiece is released, whether a controller is needed, how the system responds to power loss and what the machine must accommodate. Explore each product family before deciding which operating method suits your process.

A Complete Holding Solution Starts with the Application.
Who Uses Magnetic Workholding

Machine tool builders, grinding shops, mold makers and production teams working with suitable ferromagnetic parts.

What to Compare First

Compare your machining loads, workpiece contact, release frequency, machine interface and control requirements. These factors help narrow the chuck technology.

Magnetic Workholding for Six Machining Applications.

Choose an application to see which machining conditions determine the fixture layout—from grinding thin steel to maintaining drill clearance or integrating magnetic mold clamping.

Grinding Thin Steel Parts Without Blocking the Working Face

For surface grinding, consistent contact, an appropriate pole pitch and a clean working face help establish the required holding conditions. Very thin or uneven parts may need additional support.

Machining Large Parts with Limited Clamp Access

For large steel blocks with multiple machined faces, a magnetic fixture can leave more of the upper surface open than conventional top clamps. Contact zones, side-force restraint and tool clearance still need an application-specific design.

The ChallengeMaintain cutter access without sacrificing part support.
The Solution ApproachArrange magnetic contact and mechanical stops around the cutting path.
The ValidationReview holding forces and movement risk under defined cutting conditions.
